How Far in Advance Should You Order Custom Kippahs?

Kippush's production takes 1–3 business days after mockup approval — here's exactly what happens at each step, and how much buffer to plan before your event.

Kippush's own production takes 1–3 business days — but that clock only starts once you've approved your digital mockup. The total time from placing your order to having kippahs in hand also includes choosing your design, sending personalization details, and shipping. Here's what actually happens at each step, and how much buffer to build in before your event.

What happens after you order

  1. Choose or upload your design. Pick a Ready Design and personalize it, or send your own logo or artwork for a fully custom kippah.
  2. Send your personalization details. Names, dates, Hebrew text or any special instructions go in at checkout.
  3. Kippush prepares your mockup. You'll receive a digital proof to review. The on-page preview is approximate, and nothing goes to production until you approve the proof.
  4. You review and approve. If something needs adjusting — spacing, sizing, wording — this is when to say so. Revisions happen here, before production.
  5. Production — 1–3 business days after approval. This is Kippush's own printing and finishing time, done at our Laval, Quebec workshop.
  6. Shipping. Across Canada and the USA, or local pickup in Laval if that's easier.

The mockup-approval step is where most of the real variability sits. Two customers ordering the same design on the same day can have very different total timelines depending on how quickly they reply once their mockup is ready.

How much buffer to build in before your event

These are planning guidelines based on typical order volume and turnaround — not guaranteed delivery dates. Actual shipping time depends on your location and carrier, and larger bulk orders can take longer to produce.

Event type Suggested order-by
Bar & Bat Mitzvah (personalized) 3–4 weeks before, when possible
Wedding (personalized) 4–6 weeks before, when possible
Brit Milah / Bris As soon as the date is set — see below
Blank, no personalization 1–2 weeks before

Brit Milah ceremonies are traditionally held on a baby's eighth day, so there's very little natural lead time. If this applies to you, reach out as soon as you know the date — we'll tell you honestly what's realistic rather than promise something we can't deliver.

What can make it faster or slower

  • Faster: a Ready Design (less back-and-forth on artwork), a quick mockup approval, and a standard quantity.
  • Slower: multiple rounds of revisions, a fully custom logo that needs preparation, a large bulk order, or ordering during a high-volume shipping season.

Kippush tip: the single biggest lever you control is how fast you respond to your mockup. Approving (or requesting changes) within a day of receiving it is the easiest way to keep your order on track.

Ordering for a specific date?

Frequently Asked Questions

How fast is Kippush's production really?

Production takes 1–3 business days after you approve your proof. That's Kippush's own printing and finishing time at our Laval, Quebec workshop.

Can I rush an order for an upcoming event?

Contact us and tell us your date. We'll look at your specific order and let you know honestly what's realistic — we don't make guarantees we can't keep.

Does shipping time count separately from production time?

Yes. Production is 1–3 business days after approval; shipping across Canada and the USA is separate and depends on your location and carrier.
